The Weikel Family Band??

Remember this little red piano we got for Charlene? Little Theodore has now inherited it from Her, and He LOVES playing at it.

Sometimes if He plays for so long I will catch him like this. Just chillin at the piano. :)

Here is him in action.

Charlene wanted to play her little baby grand piano, so I put Theodore by Charlene, and they played away!

Now....this was Theodore's first time in the Weikel Family Band. So he was a little stage fright when Shelby started to sing.

Here is a pre-Theodore Weikel Family Band video also. LOL

An evening spent at the hospital

Well...sometimes its just hard being a baby. So much to learn, taste and feel. Theodore is 7 months old, and only likes certain foods such as avocado, bananas, peas, and green beans. The Dr. tells you to introduce food one at a time in case they have a food allergy.

Well...it was time to introduce something new for him. You really aren't suppose to prepare carrots for babies because of the nitrates in them can lower their blood count. But who knew??? anyways - So earlier in the evening I spent a half hour preparing his first serving of carrots. I gave him his first nibble, and he just ate it. the next couple bites he didn't like it too well. So an hour later, its time to try it again. The instant the first carrot hit his belly this time triggered MASSIVE throwing up!!! He couldn't stop throwing up. 10 times within a half hour! During the first couple incidents, I had Joshua look up online to see if that was a type of side effect of a food allergy since I have never heard of throwing up from an allergy. Sure enough it was! Very rare, but it was. After he was done, all of a sudden he turned PURE white....then passed out in my arms. He was extremely hard to wake. We weren't sure if he was exhausted from throwing up, or if this food allergy could be life threatening to him. Talk about a freaky moment. We threw everybody into the car, left dinner on the table and sped to the ER. They got us right in since he wasn't waking.

They got him hooked up to an IV, drew some blood and did some minor testing. Sure enough....food allergy. :( Carrots...of all things?? never even heard of anybody being allergic to carrots. He is a tough little guy. They had to poke 3 times for the IV needle. He didn't even flinch he was so out of it. :(

Joshua got a hold of his good friend Mike to come over to give him a blessing with him. The instant they were done with the blessing, his little eyes opened up. He was extremely out of it, but he was awake. We couldn't even get him to smile at us. He just gave us this blank look. We got him to drink some pedi-light, and that seemed to stay down. After about an hour in a half and the IV and blood work was done, we got to go home. Theodore had a high blood count which they told us is usually caused by trauma, which to a baby, that much throwing up could be considered trauma. So we have to go get him tested again the next day.

Little Charlene was getting extremely tired and wanting to go home.

It was 10:45pm by the time we got home. We had two little sleeping babies in the back seat.

Since we were still concerned, He got to sleep in our bed. And how is he feeling today??? Well look for yourself!

He woke up to see his Mommy and looked as normal as ever! The best part about sleeping with a baby in your bed...is to wake up to them smiling at you. :)

What a terrifying experience. I think we might just stick with his normal usual foods for a bit. :)

We live 2 miles away from the hospital...and as I write this...I can hear them ringing up our bill in the thousands. I can dream that it can be in the hundreds right??? but knowing our luck, my dream will come true, but will be something like this. $999. LOL I have to joke about this with how much medical debt we are in. But I can still dream of it being under a thousand right??? I hope my dream comes true but doesn't come close to the amount above. :)

Theodore 7 Months!

Theodore 7 months old!

Look at this little boy. He is my little "Man" in my life.

Theodore with in the last month has made some progress. He is about to crawl, He refuses to eat anything pureed. He loves frozen peas, caned string beans, fresh bananas and fresh peaches. He also doesn't like to sit up in high chairs or his bumbo and prefers to sit on our lap to eat.
He likes to stand now, rolls from 1 side of the room to the other in less than 15 seconds (he is fast). He HAS to be in the same room as his Mama or Daddy otherwise he starts to cry. He doesn't like to go to anybody else including our Nanny, unless he has no choice when we are out running errands. He has a couple little girls from church chasing him and adoring him. :) And lets see...this past week he has been sleeping for naps in his own room and as of last night, was his first night in there and only woke up once and only screamed for a half hour (both Joshua and I were surprised since Charlene during her transition screamed for 2 hours straight for the first 2 weeks) So we were pretty happy and surprised. And lets see. Shelby is protective of Theodore from anybody picking him up off the floor besides us parents (She bit the Nanny)

I think that is about it for this little Man's update for the month. :)

$5 Foot Long

Before we moved to Arizona, Joshua's work threw him a going away party. One of the presents they gave him was these matching shirts since we were expecting a boy. The infant size was 6 months, so just now Theodore is fitting into it, so we decided to take some photos for his work.

After we were done with Theodore and Joshua's photos, Joshua and I were laughing so hard with ideas of this shirt. LOL So we took a couple funny photos. Here is one of them.

Ride'em Cowboy!

While going through Theodore's closet I found Charlene's old cowboy boots. I decided with the little cowboy hat Joshua brought back from Texas, Theodore can go on a horsie ride now. :)

He needed a little convincing at first, but after a while, he LOVED it!

Such a happy little cowboy!

Charlene wanted her picture taken also.

I got her to hold up her hand like a cow girl would do. LOL :)

Snow at the Zoo

Our friends told us about a special event at the zoo with snow. So we decided to meet them there and play in it a little. :)

We got there before our friends, so we decided to wait by them at the entrance which was over a bridge with HUNDREDS of water turtles. Charlene loved to watch them swim.

Theodore got a little ride in the stroller and passed out the whole trip besides maybe the last little bit.

Charlene found the snow and made snow balls.

Next we saw the Monkeys and they had their own little "Hawaiian" island

There was only 1 elephant out, but Charlene loves elephants so she was a happy camper.

There were 2 Rhinos.

We went and saw some more monkeys and while we were there, one walked right up to Charlene and sat down to stair back at her.

My little monkeys. :)

Charlene's Carnival Birthday Party

The set up. I took this picture, and HAD planned on taking pictures of all the little individual games, but I wanted to wait until the volunteers showed up so they could be in the picture running the game. Well...only 4 of our volunteers showed up, so it was a LITTLE crazy which therefore I forgot to take the pictures :(

As the kids arrived we had them start off with face painting which Roxeanne was in charge of. Once She had all the kids painted, then she helped out with Theodore so Joshua could start cooking the food.

Charlene loved the ring toss game.

She loved the matching duck game.

Even Theodore got a little hammer which he tried to attack. :)

One of the last games was "pin the nose on the clown" The prize was a clown nose. So once they earned their clown nose, they got their picture taken. :)

This next picture is of Charlene's little boyfriend Enlai. This is a super cute photo of him. :)

At the end of all the games, this is what their little boxes looked like.

and the birthday cake we made....yeah...it was worth the half day of labor it took. LOL

After cake came presents. She got a lot of learning stuff which is super nice. oh...and a new Veggie Tale which we didn't have. :)

Some of the birthday guests. (some didn't like the clown noses and refused to wear them)

After the party we went over to Enlai's so the "big boys" could play pool. When it was time to go, we went up stairs and found Charlene and her boyfriend Enlai being a little "too" comfortable with each other. LOL SUPER CUTE that they were cuddling by each other. Little Enlai comes from a good family, so I don't mind if they are future "companions" :)

They are such great pals, that when it was time to go...She didn't want to leave Enlai's side. :)

Charlene's birthday

Charlene surprisingly slept in until 8:30am! Which surprised us since she usually wakes up at 6am at the latest!

She woke up to breakfast at the table waiting for her.

It was carnival waffles with chocolate nutella all over them. She was super excited!

After breakfast its our family tradition to read the WHOLE baby book. She really enjoyed it. Last year she didn't understand, but this year she understands quite a bit more, so she liked it.

After the baby book we let her open only 2 of her presents.

She LOVES to do puzzles, so she got a train puzzle that makes noise when it is complete

Her second gift was 3 pairs of summer pj's! I looked all over for these suckers too! You would think from a state that is warm all year round that they would carry them, but apparently I had to go to 15 stores just to find these.

Our next plans were to take her to the carousal, but Joshua got called into work for a couple hours, so that was itea was ruined. So we stayed home and hung out until he got back. In the mean time I caught Charlene reading a birthday card from her Aunt Shirley. She was just chillng on the couch cushion reading it.

I figured I would put her to work a little. We had 24 caramel apples to do. So she helped me unwrap all the caramels.

The Nanny came over to help with little Theodore and brought along Charlene's little boyfriend. We caught them in "Olivia's" crib. LOL :) We came back a little later and found Charlene reading a book in the chair with Enlai laying in the crib. LOL Kids...too cute!

Charlene this morning got to open a card from her Grandma & Grandpa Gage. The card was a scottie dog card. Charlene was so excited, she didn't even see the gift card inside! She flew up off the bed and went to show Shelby who sleeps under the bed.

She got Shelby out from under the bed, and the next 20 minutes she would follow Shelby around showing her the card. It was priceless. :) Charlene is in love with Scottie dogs, so it was the perfect card.
